Teleseminar: Finding Info Product Gold

If you’re a small business owner, you’re probably familiar with the idea of information products: e-books, audio recordings, webinars, etc. that you can sell or give away — usually downloaded directly from the Internet.
And you are probably familiar with the benefits of information products: passive revenue, giving folks who aren’t ready to buy a way to sample what you do, reaching a far broader group than you could working one-on-one, having products complementary businesses can sell for you, etc.
But you may also feel a little intimidated by the idea of creating an information product. Perhaps you’re worried that
- you’re not a real expert
- you hate to write (or you’re petrified by microphones)
- you can’t afford to buy fancy schmancy equipment to create multimedia
- you hardly have the time to learn a bunch of new skills
Fortunately, I’ve developed some short cuts. One such short cut is “re-purposing” stuff you’ve already created.
Finding “Hidden Treasures”
A few years ago, my aunt and uncle were moving and gave me an old leather chair that I had always admired. It was a little worn but super comfortable and I needed furniture for my apartment.
A designer friend of mine was visiting and when he saw the chair, asked me if he could take a closer look. It turned out my comfortable old chair was a designer original from the early 1960′s. My friend who is into furniture from the 50′s and 60′s told me if I was ever interested in selling the chair it was worth a couple thousand dollars.
…But on My Computer?!
Ok, the presentation you gave at last month’s chamber of commerce meeting may not get you a couple thousand dollars on eBay but if it can help your prospects and customers solve a problem, it has real value.
… and may be something you can sell as an information product.
If you’ve written
